And if I remember correctly, the SEC West teams that beat us both won the National Championship...one of them ridiculously easy.

Um well that is kinda the point, that you steamroll through the good teams but cannot beat elite ones when it matters.

I get your point. Really awful

I never said its been "awful." In fact UGA has had some of the best teams in the country consistently over the past few years...which is part of the problem... are you really going to sit there and tell me you were pumped that you beat Baylor for the Sugar bowl last year? Take one of those teams and win something of substance and people will respect you like Bama, LSU, etc. Until then its all bark and no bite

Before you bring up UT and how much we suck, just remember that this is not a conversation about UT...I know we suck. Would I trade UT's results with UGAs over the past 5/10 years? Hell yes 100%. But the teams you are trying to emulate wouldn't, and that is where you need to get to. And to do so you need to beat them and win trophies.

Wait. We should somehow feel inferior because we got beaten by teams that nobody else could beat?
Okay.

Have finished top 5 in the country the last three years in a row.

which is part of the problem
Nope. Finishing top 5 is definitely NOT a problem.

I was pumped we finished #5 last year and beating Baylor was a part of that. I mean, they looked to be headed for the playoffs and were ranked #7 when we beat them.

Wait. Winning the Sec is nothing of substance? Winning the Rose Bowl is not winning something of substance? Winning a playoff game is not sinning something of substance?

Or is your argument that there is no substance outside of the National Championship? If so there are an awful lot of teams that do not win "anything of substance" ever, and most don't win anything of substance but once or twice in their history.

Before you bring up UT

I'm not going to bring up UT. Why would I? I'm sure you are aware of how bad you have been the last 20 years just like we are fully aware we have not won a National Championship since 1980.

But be honest? Aren't Tennessee fans excited and hopeful about what Pruitt is doing at Tennessee? Why shouldn't we be excited and hopeful about what is going on at Georgia?

I thought that was what we were trying to do?

Every game matters. Even beating Tennessee. That is why college football is better than pro sports.

Yes. We didnt deserve to be in the playoff. And we beat a good Baylor team (defense) with our B team and new OL coach.
We had 2nd to 4th team OL, WR, and RBs in the game.

As for beating Bama, we were deficient in talent versus them. 2017, we were weak at DB. 2018, weak at ILB and NT depth. The talent deficiencies are getting fixed. LSU was able to get to our 6th and 7th DBs. That still may be a concern for 2020, but I'm not sure how many offenses will force 7 DBs.

It was a damn good victory with so many people out and losing our OL coach before...it was a solid comeback after the SECCG showing and it was a very important game for Baylor.

win something of substance

Geez. So Tennessee won NOTHING of "substance" in the 60's,70's,80's,00's and '10's? Amazing the high standards
Vol fans apparently have.

BTW,name another 1st time HC whose had a better start than Kirby in his 1st 4 years in the SEC?

He is essentially using the Ricky Bobby flame.
