Southerners are generally hated by Northeastern urban liberals. This shouldn't surprise anyone. The folks at Manhattan and DC cocktail parties sneer at us like they would shite on their shoe. That is, until they need a disproportionate number of us Southern boys to fight in their next Middle Eastern war to make their lobbyists, hedge funds, banks and defense contractors more money.

So I’m to assume you are against the Republican Party who overwhelmingly voted to get us involved in those wars and who (Dick Cheney) profited highly off of those wars?

I used to have to go to market (retail) in NYC. I would have to spend a day and a half there, going from place to place. Why not two days, because I wanted to get the hell out of there. Flew up there in the morning, spend the rest of the day going around, ate, slept, started again the next morning, and took the flight home in the evening

One thing I did love, I made all the vendors come to see me in Gadsden, Alabama, buy me lunch, if they wanted my business, and before you comment, my family owned 27 stores in five states.

Most of them loved it, and the one that commented negatively about it, I stop buying from him, and told him why. I got a apology letter from the company, and had a new rep within a month. He came to Gadsden to introduce himself.
