They don’t really think they can/will play in the winter or spring. They just want to make everybody think they will so other conferences will be pressured to cancel their fall seasons. B1G is terrified to be left behind if other conferences play this fall.

They have no intention of playing in the Spring. That carrot dangling is their only chance of fewer player transfers and recruit decommits. No carrot, no chance.
