If Nebraska asked SEC to invite them as a full member, would SEC take them?

What would they add? The Omaha market? They have great fan support and are a better fit culturally than Mizzou. Their basketball sucks, but who cares.

I do, I spent a good bit of time in that area back in the mid 90's when they were doing their runs. They like to drink and they love football. Guns also. They sell out every home game(85k stadium, but posts 91k attendance) and have the record for consecutive sell outs which began in 1962.
Their fans are generally nice and they show respect to fans of other good teams(I assume, they always did Alabama anyway).
Personally, I'm wondering why the frick a Mizzou fan thinks it fits culturally better than Nebraska enough to call them out. 100% market grab addition.
The real issue with Nebraska in the SEC is geography and cold arse winters. Once it gets mid-late October it's pretty much snow on the ground. Field gets clean obvious, but cold as hell. And they are neither south nor eastern.
Culturally, they'd fit right in.

They are a completely irrelevant state so yes I know absolutely nothing about them.

I’d say Missouri basketball has been irrelevant for well more than two decades but I guess you had a decent year in 1994 so maybe I’m mistaken.

I told you why they are a good fit culturally. As far as culture goes, I'd love to add them and Oklahoma.

To be honest I don't really want to add more teams, I'd rather drop back down to 12. But if it was making a new conference on nothing but culture, Nebraska would be in easy.

Yes, they have a great fanbase. Maybe the most loyal in the country but coming from a “these Yankees just don’t belong” type like yourself...please know these people have literally nothing at all in common with Southern culture. That’s not a bad thing,

There is very little there, so they love football, getting drunk/high and shooting guns. A state where college football is bigger than NFL. In Lincoln, they have O-Street, pretty much just another string of bars for college kids like any other college town.
I think Mizzou fans are just jealous because they know they don't really fit in well.
