I know most football players aren't Rhodes Scholars, but this is a shameful moment for the SEC.

Just wondering.
I am curious as to whether or not Hooked on Phonics actually works.

This is a shameful moment for Ole Piss. Funny how they act like their school is on par with the Real Oxford yet they work in a guy who can't even read because they are so desperate to win at football. Very sad.

I wish the kid the best of luck. He got screwed when they basically said we think you cheated, but we can't prove it. The worst thing that happened to the kid was when his mom said he can't read. I'm sure she meant he was LD, but it didn't come out that. He probably won't play but one year and then go on to the NFL next year.

Isn't it only fitting to come from a shameful school?

call me crazy...but I'm actually pulling for the guy.

...but is Powe going to be the first 27 year old freshman?

It's not a shameful moment. You kinda have to give it up to a kid who didn't just give up and start doing physical labor. He had to have gained knowledge to become eligible.

For all that he went through and all that he has been publicly ridiculed..it is a great thing that he was certified by the NCAA. I am not so sure some of the people on other teams would have been as committed. And he is not located on a police report, his crime was a LD, so I think he deserves this chance, while others don't ever deserve their second, third, or more chances (Not RP I am talking about)

nothing wrong in this. He finally qualified and more power to him.

did he actually do it himself though?

I am happy for Powe, but how does one go from not being able to read to passing college classes in 3 years?
