It's a new disease, so a lot is still unknown. However, there is evidence of possible long-term effects following recovery.

Why are folks attacking a guy for saying something that is likely true?

"This disease could have lasting effects."

"Commie Scum!!"

Sound like a fricking moron.
Let's say you just got in a car accident, but it's a minor fender-bender where some idiot hit your rear bumper doing maybe 15 mph. And one of your kids is in the car with you and you decide to take her to the hospital just for precautions.

But you call your wife and go, "Honey, we were in a car accident. I have little Jenny at the hospital. She could have long term serious effects from the crash." And that's all you tell her before hanging up the phone.

Now how fricking pissed is your wife going to be when she finds out some dude barely bumped you at a stoplight, there's no damage on your car, your daughter wasn't complaining of any pain, you only took her to the hospital to get checked out, and you made her unnecessarily panic and worried out of her mind thinking your daughter could be a vegetable or invalid for the rest of her life?

She's going to cock-block your idiot arse, probably bitch-slap you into oblivion, and tell you that you're an a-hole and stupid for blowing it out of proportion and leaving her without all the critical details.

And that's how moronic the OP sounds.

You idiot doomer fricks just can't help yourself. You make it apparent that you want this thing to be as worse as possible time and again.

And there's zero surprise that you're trying to defend how stupidly it's presented.

Your daughter has an XRay and it shows scarring on the daughter's lungs.

The daughter feels fine, but the doctor explains that the scarring could effect her ability to fight off a future flu, pneumonia, or get worse after a 2nd fender bender.

Your analogy tries to equate a novel virus to something that happens 6,000,000 times per year for the last 40 years (fender bender) You didn't do a good job with that example. Maybe you want to try again.
