I saw a video that started earlier, and I thought I heard, "we're not whiteys or blackies, we're Aggies."

I can see why this would set the young men off, but they were in the wrong, or at least also in the wrong. If I heard him correctly, he was not intending to offend or use racist language...he used the word whitey and the word blackie, and his message (however poorly delivered) was that we're all Aggies.

Edit: After listening to another video, I think I heard wrong. He did not include talk of "whitey."
The old dude's comment was racist, and, in my opinion, does very much mitigate the way the young men responded to him. It was racist.

Lettuce be real here, old guy is lucky he didn't get the shite kicked out of him. He's trying to counter protest (personally I like seeing them defending statues) but all he did is fuel the their whole movement with that comment. It's making the rounds all over twitter. He needs to go mow his lawn for the 4th time this week. If he cant speak right he's hurting what he's defending.
