When the season wound down, Tennessee had been #1 in the AP for weeks, but I'd forgotten that KSU was #1 in the coaches poll. I don't remember the BCS standings. I guess I don't remember it being that close.

Tbh, I thought it was a fluke that Arkansas lost to MSU and didn't watch the SECCG until many years later. Didn't watch the Arkansas/MSU game because it wasn't on television. But that was a very good MSU team and it should have finished ranked. It's interesting that MSU won the West and beat Arkansas, but was never ranked higher, although I'm sure that early loss to Okie State had much to do with that.

It was a JP game.

Last Five Minutes: LINK

State was a good team not a great team. Defense was outstanding but no offense. Won that day with five field goals and a defensive TD.

The team was in a funk after they lost to Tennessee. The kicker had a DWI or DUI. It was a rainy game and nasty. I believe had we won against Tennessee, Nutt would still have a letdown game like he always did. If his team wasn't in a funk then they were recovering from a hangover.
