1998 was a weak year. Much like 2019. 2010 and 2009 were also weaker years.

2010 wasn't a weak year at all. MSU finished 5th in the SEC-W and still beat the crap out of Michigan (52-14). Alabama finished 4th and beat the crap out of #7 Michigan State (49-7). Auburn won the national championship and Florida beat Penn State.
