I think it was a down year for the SEC. Tennessee was very talented all around, but pretty unremarkable as far as national champions go. Still, going undefeated is a huge accomplishment. Fulmer should've won more than two SEC titles with the sheer volume of talent that went through there, but Spurrier owned him.

Tennessee was up 23-9 with 6 minutes left in this game. Peerless Price had 199 receiving yards in this game. Florida State had just over 250 yards total offense. Overall...Defense was how that Tennessee team was undefeated.
