With the sudden departure of Heiar from LSU without any given reason, you have to think that there’s writing on the wall here. This is odd timing. No mention of accepting a job elsewhere. No reason given for departing.
He’s probably distancing himself from Wade since the NOA are about to be given.

His contract was up. Wants to be a head coach. taking a 1 year bridge assistant job until he can land a head gig. EastTennesseState is a likely candidate

This has been known for over a month, has nothing to do with what he thinks will happen, he wants a head coaching job and hasnt gotten a fair shake the last 2 offseasons so hes going elsewhere to try and get a different look. Hes been in talks with Texas Tech and ETSU.
He told the admin he was heading elsewhere before the season and they werent going to renew his contract which was set to expire in 2 weeks as a result.
