Why did Aggie dominate so hard back then but now can barely win a game?

What a revolting development this is. Simple fix, if players don't want to sing it, then don't sing it.

You're 100% correct. This is about seeing how far they can pust it, and rub the white man's nose in it. They want their 40 acres and a mule, or your house and car if that's not available.

You do know “Dixie” was written by a black man that moved up to New York from Louisiana Right? He was performing up there (Song/dance) and was reminiscing over his youth back in French Louisiana and exchanging currency “dix” (ten in French). That was his inspiration to write the lyrics and song. He missed his home and had fond memories from his youth there

So a black man from the Era of Slavery missed the "land of cotton", where black folks like him picked it for FREE or was beaten to within an inch of their lives?

Sounds real effin' believable?

Try this, maybe that same black man having actually picked cotton for free realized that while "up North" it was better to be a "coonin', step-n-fetchit, shuckin'& jivin' minstrel show, entertaining black man as a way to survive in 1859 than to be a slave down south working in that "land of cotton" that he allegedly missed so much

Anyway , Google credits some white guy with writing the song, but the song dixie does have roots from blackface minstrel shows

I'm just curious, why does anyone want to keep this shite around, aren't we smart enough in 2020 to evolve in a more inclusive way, it seems so simple, yet so many are fighting to keep shite around that isn't worth keeping to begin with?

I am talking about everywhere, in general. There will be no end to what these idiots deem racist, until someone stands up for common sense.

Most of these people who are viewed as heroes ended up swearing an oath to the United States and went back to the south to help re-build it to what it is today.

Hmmm?

Swear a "verbal oath" to the US?

The Country they just tried to destroy over slavery, in fact one of those 10 confederate generals that a base is named for (that bone spurs is defending) wanted the south to be the World's first slavocracy built on the principles that the " white race is superior"( his words)

So the choices were to "swear an oath" or face treason, which at that time was probably a death sentence rather than life in prison

Hmmm, that "swearing an oath" seems to be a really attractive option right abt now?

One question:

When you make comments like the one above, why not tell both sides of the story to provide perspective & proper context?

I guess we have been correct for over 100 years?

Here are some of the words of the Aggie War Hymn....

the eyes of Texas are upon you'
That is the song they sing so well
Sounds Like Hell

.....it does indeed 'Sounds like Hell'

BTW, what Admin let this psychotic little freak geek troll back on the board? ? ?

How ironic, the one guy so publicly humiliated over his blatant racism would post on a thread like this. Got to love it, at least you're consistent.
