Clearly Kirby saw the success of O's model first hand over the last two years, and decided he wants to try to replicate it with his own program.
Will it work? Not sure. But can't blame the man for trying to be just like his daddy.

Think it’s fair to say the success was last year. It’s not like LSU 2 seasons ago had a better season than Kirby’s had his last 3 years.

Well I’d say LSU 2 seasons ago had a better season than Georgia 2 seasons ago. They beat them head to head and won a ny6 bowl while Georgia lost theirs, and they finished the season ranked higher

Because the success was truly just one season. The goal is to win a National Championship. LSU did that last year.
We’ve had LSU’s 2018 season. We want their 2019 one.

If so Kirby is a dadgum genius 'cause anyone who questions what Coach O accomplished at LSU last season is the opposite of a dadgum genius! I don't care how he gets it done if he gets it done and don't get caught!

Scott wanted special teams, and Saban wouldn't give it to him. Maybe a good choice, maybe a bad one. Time will tell.

If Scott is a good special teams coach then Saban will look like a giant dunce given their struggles recently.
