FAYETTEVILLE — Eddie Sutton, who built the University of Arkansas basketball program into a national power and won more than 800 career games as a college coach, has died at age 84.

Sutton died on Saturday in Tulsa, multiple sources confirmed to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, after being in hospice care. His death comes less than two months after he was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on April 3.

His obituary posted by espn pretty much summed up his career, scandal at Kentucky leading their program to receiving a death penalty light. Long stint at Okie light that ended with a DUI arrest. Substance abuse and alcoholism. A couple final fours in 40 years. Coaching half a year at San Francisco to eclipse 800 wins during a losing season. Constantly being passed over by the Naismith hall of fame.

Eddie Sutton, this is your legacy.

No matter what Eddie did when he left here,I will always appreciate him for building our basketball program.
