He had Brian freaking griese as a qb lol.

You mean 1st Team All-Big 10, Rose Bowl MVP Brian Griese? Griese was a pretty damn good college QB and had a pretty respectable NFL career

Peyton was also 3-1 against Alabama, his only loss being in his true freshman season

if your criteria is beating ALL rivals, how the hell did Tebow win it in 2007?

You lsu fans are idiots...tebow won a title. Peyton didn't. Tebow beat all his rivals when it counted...Peyton didn't

I'm out, I refuse to debate with lsu fans

Then why did Ricky Williams win the Hiesman the following year while allowing his team to lose 3 games? Why did Tebow win the Heisman in 2007 when his team lost 4 games? This notion that you have to beat everyone on your schedule to win the Heisman is ridiculous. Football is a team sport. Wins and losses don't fall on one person. If someone was going to beat Peyton for the Heisman trophy, it shouldn't have been Charles Woodson. he averaged 8.8 yards per punt return, had 231 yards receiving with 1 TD, and 7 picks. That's a great season, not going to dispute that, but Heisman worthy? Probably not.

if anyone is the idiot in this conversation, its you. Tebow was back up QB on Florida's 2006 Title. Florida lost three games the year he won the Heisman.

Teblow was always the media darling. Rex Grossman and Darren McFadden were more deserving underclassmen before him

When Tebow won the Heisman trophy, he was in his first year as a starter and his team had a record of 9-3. he hadn't won a national title as a starter when he was chosen to receive the Heisman trophy.

he didn't in 2007. He lost to LSU, Georgia, and Auburn.

Still doesn't change the fact he had an electric game in all three phases.

I hate UT and consider the Manning snub pure bias by the dildos that ran college football media pre bcs.

What Manning did week in and out was way harder than a DB/ Wr, return specialist.

He was 100% robbed by a "dual threat athlete" it still stands as the biggest bullshite in the history of the Heisman.

Because it was one of the few years the award went to the actual best player in college football instead of the best QB.

Peyton Manning is phenomenal we all know that, but how clutch was he ?

He failed to win the ultimate prize at UT then was pedestrian in his two Super Bowl wins.

The Bears were kind of dogshit and the Broncos D was the hero of his second championship.

How about his awful performances against Florida? He was arguably the goat SEC QB, but people remember those big game duds

Think of who gets to vote. A lot of Northeastern and upper Midwest sports journalists who outnumber the Southern ones. It was very much a regional bias against Peyton, who I am no big fan of, but that is what happened. Peyton definitely got robbed.
