You have ignored the data that counts.

D1 Football coaches get ranked based mostly on their peak of success, the program they end up associated with not on their first HC jobs or previous interims. Nobody gives a shite what Nick Saban did at Toledo or even Michigan State. Those were jobs that earned him opportunities at LSU and Bama. Same thing with Bear Bryant, Bobby Bowden, and Woody Hayes. Nobody gives a shite that Bowden went 42-26 at West Virginia or that Bryant went 60-23 at Kentucky.

So you’d say coaches are ranked with how far they’ve elevated the program they’re with then?

I care that Bryant went 60-23 at UK. He is still our winningest coach. Stoops will pass that God willing.

It points out how good the Bear was.
