One that is promised anonymity by a national reporter? It’s no secret that Godfrey thinks players should be paid and hates the NCAA. They weren’t worried about him telling the NCAA or leaking their names.

I'm not reading back through 7 pages, but you said that if all schools were doing it then the players would just goto the highest bidder. The Tulane comment is dumb because why would a player goto Tulane when they can get the same deal at a Bama. LSU, Ohio State, Clemson, etc.?
Just like in the basketball analogy, if Duke wasn't paying roughly the same as LSU those 3 top 10 players don't pass up all of that money. They aren't just gonna goto Duke and pass up 100K or more at LSU when both schools offer the same thing as far as getting to the next level.

I said #1 that the ability to do such things wasn't even in question. And I said #2 that people aren't going to up and just give interviews like that for no damn reason.
Obviously he isn't lying, Ole Miss just got caught doing it, and an Ole Miss bagman is his source.

If you think he had one source and that source was only at Ole Miss for that article you are a true idiot.

Well you don't think I'm claiming Tua wanted to go to Alabama just because he loves Alabama do you?
His dad choose the option that gave him the best chances on his future. That was not about money at the time, it was about what Alabama had to offer in terms of coaching and getting him ready for the NFL and getting the most money then.
So my entire argument is based around that's what the top programs provide that other teams don't, and that is why top recruits are coming to Alabama now. They sure as shite weren't coming in big numbers back when we know we had boosters paying for them. There are obviously other things that are much more valuable than money.
If I wasn't saying that, what would my argument be?
You are claiming they all get money on top of all this. I don't see where it's an actual deciding factor. And that schools keep putting more and more money in these areas hints towards that as well.
Schools at the top do not have to cheat.

I knew. I don't care. Cheaters win.

It doesn't even matter, so whatever fine. Every school sent a rep.
It's again not a question of it's possible. Obviously Ole Miss just got caught doing it, so it's possible.
I only asked you what the current unspoken college football salary cap was that you claimed Ole Miss broke.

Because Alabama is the best at developing quarterbacks.

You probably need to reconsider being a bama fan.

Sark had a relationship and was their preferred QB coach from back when he was at USC.
If he had still been at USC, Tua would have ended up at USC instead of Alabama.
Who else is available that's better at developing QB's in college football right now?

No one ever claimed that it was a deciding factor among the top schools. That's what you've been missing. The deciding factors are facilities, coaching and opportunity at the next level. The schools just have to match other offers because they're all offering money like it's free agency. Free agents don't always go for the most money.
As far as Tua, if you don't think they were given money to uproot the entire family to relocate to Tuscaloosa then you've lost your mind. He could have been a top 10 pick at all kinds of schools. Bama just had to match other offers to get him. Bama isn't the only school that can offer players the opportunity to be in the NFL. You telling me they thought he couldn't have been a top 5 pick at Ohio State or Clemson when he came out of high school?

I always considered Auburn to be a good filter for that.

Idk, Lincoln Riley and Ryan Day have a good reputation.

People have claimed that multiple times in this thread and continue to claim it in general.
They pay and they get away with it, that's the only reason they have success. Blah blah blah

And then you turn around and do it yourself in the next paragraph. Only got Tua because of money.
Because you've done so much research on Tua and his relationships over the years. You don't fricking know, but it sure as hell didn't just stop you from claiming it's all about the money.

There really needs to be a reading comprehension test before being allowed to post here.

I would find that hard to believe.
I also find it hard to believe that it is a Bama fan who posted this.

Well I'm not getting into having to explain cost of living and why thinking his family needed money to move from Hawaii to Alabama is just stupid as frick.
And I'm gonna go do other stuff now, so have fun with your bigfoot type claims that everyone cheats.

Oh the naivete. Your five star backup running back from Florida received a package in the 340k range. I have that from TWO sources. Bama outbid everybody. And I DNGAsingleF. You need to have a professional sports agent or an alumni bag man friend so you can follow the bidding process. It's getting crazier with the television contracts. Don't care if you are adult enough to believe me or not.
