They should have dropped Arkansas out of the top 10 preseason rankings after Petrino was fired. If he wasn't fired, he wouldn't met those expectations after the player departures we had off that 2011 team. They were at best a 8-4 or 9-3 team.
The 2013 team, Petrino would do better than Bert but still not as good as the year before. He was looking at a 7-5 team at best, still much better than 3-9 with Bert.
The 2014 year he was looking at climbing up. Bert underachieved with that team and I see them at 9-3 at best. Bert cost us 3-4 wins a year here.
The 2015 year, Petrino was looking at winning the SEC. Bert had all the talent in place but Bert farted it away. Petrino would have won 11-13 games with that team.
The 2016. Petrino wouldn't have lost against Missouri or Virginia Tech. He was looking at 9-4 or 10-3 year.
The 2017 year would be a rebuilding year but I think he would still go bowling.
This is alternative history if Petrino didn't implode and started taking recruiting more seriously.

After the 2011 season, I had this weird feeling that Petrino had peaked here and would never, again, have the players to compete for the SEC. I never expected the motorcycle accident, though.
Had a similar feeling about Bert after 2015, except that I knew it was more than a feeling with Pittman gone.
Who knows what would have happened with Petrino? I certainly didn't want him gone, regardless.

Not only did he not take recruiting seriously, his demeanor sabotaged him with potential recruits. Players talked openly to recruits about what an insane prick was to everybody. Source: Firsthand from a player (successful, known statewide by fans at that point) who was on the team for Petrino's first two seasons at Arkansas.

Hard to really gauge these type of hypotheticals because Petrino probably wouldn’t have Alex Collins in the backfield, for example.
Not sure our defense was good enough to win that many games in 2015. But that offense was the best we’ve had since the Petrino years for sure. We definitely should have won more than 8 with all the NFL players on the team in 2014-15.
