I don’t watch around the league much if Mizzou isn’t playing, so looking for some opinions on this guy from those who have seen him play (any LSU fans with access to our board in particular.)
I’m very “anti” running back in the first round, so I was a little disappointed to see we selected one. No disrespect to the player at all, more just that I don’t believe in using a first rounder on a RB, especially with Mahomes at your disposal.

He is shifty and surprising strong for his size. Great at catching passes out of the backfield, something Andy puts a premium on with his backs. He is being compared to Sproles, but not as fast. A pretty good pick, although I was hoping for Diggs from Bama, probably the best remaining cornerback in the draft.

From what little I do know, I remember he can catch passes out of the backfield really well. After Kareem Hunt was released, I always thought the Chiefs needed a younger version of LeVeon Bell (basically cheaper and with less miles), I hope this guy is it.

he does a little bit of everything. LSU fans gave him the name Swiss army knife.

I hope this is not KC's version of Trung Canidate.

I’m more comfortable with the pick if that’s the case. A back that can also moonlight as a receiver makes a lot of sense. That way, the ball is still going through Pat’s hands first

Wanted a defensive player with this pick but think this was the best RB pick the Chiefs could make as he is perfect for Andy's system.

From what I'm hearing he is also a total team player and hard worker. His main weakness is his blocking, but has improved greatly over time, good coaching will make him better as he is a willing learner. He very well may be the most complete running back in the draft that also fits perfect into Andy's system.

If you watched Andy at all at Philly that offense ran a lot through Westbrook, unless my memory faults me.

I watched more of his tape, he is definitely NOT a LeVeon Bell, definitely more of a Darren Sproles and really not too different from Damien Williams.

Saw him play and was super impressed. If you watch a full highlight real, you’ll get excited. Very patient runner. Not super fast, but he has really quick feet. Reminds me a lot of Bell in terms of his style. I liked the pick. I love could have settled for a #4-5 CB, but I actually love the value of selecting the first running back. I think Edwards-Helaire’s game will keep him on the field and his legs will have a lot of life

Apparently Mahomes had a say in the pick. It was Andy Reid's first every RB pick in the first round. But also consider it's the last pick #32. Pretty close to a high 2nd rounder where RBs start getting picked.

So call it the first pick of the 2nd round.
