Question about the Mike linebacker position

It's great to have Dylan Moses back, of course. But, I do wonder if he will be on a pitch count to start the season. Who could rotate in to spell him early on as he recovers from the knee injury ? Christian Harris is going to be the other inside backer. No question. But will someone like Ale Kaho come into the rotation more ?

I would think he plays the large majority of snaps unless one of the backups just earns more than garbage time which is entirely possible. I don't know why would restrict his playing time unless his knee isn't at 100%.
Shane Lee could indeed spell Moses for extended periods if necessary but I think Moses is gonna be ok and is poised for a big year. Heck, it looks look it may be 2021 before we have a season anyway.

It was my understanding that the starter actually has to be named Mike.

I believe Moses is 100% and will play his position normally, without limitation.

I do not believe this will be necessary.
Having said that, it is certainly imperative to train the 2s at ILB and Mike, and you can for sure have a discussion about who that will be. However, I do not expect the 2nd team Mike to have an increased workload as compared to any other year. Moses is 100%, or at least will be 100% long before fall camp starts.

I very much would like the "light to come on" for Kaho, and I hope he gets in the mix and is a contributor at ILB. But I don't think it'll have anything to do with Moses' injury, as he won't be injured or limited in 2020.

It's not too late for him but his time has flew by. Junior year I think.

Especially since the talk is fall camp may start around Valentine's Day.
