I was told that America's budget is like 35% military while all those socialist countries in Europe struggle to spend 1% on military, so America provides their global security as a relic of WWII and they get to provide all kinds of cool social programs instead of spending it on security. Is that right? It's just what I heard on Fox News. I would prefer to be corrected on this. As I said before, I'm here to learn.

Screw our security.., Education should be free. Debt should be paid by cooperations. That’s what I believe.

While I don't agree with us funding other countries' military you seem to be missing the point. Your question about if your pastor is right about socialism and capitalism not be compatible which I gave examples of where it is.
FWIW, our military budget is extremely high and a lot of it should be spent elsewhere
