Just watched a special on Georgia's mascot, UGA VI. Didn't realize he died this year. Also didn't realize the UGAs only average 8 or 9 years. That's a short life span for a dog.

So, how many SEC teams have live animals as mascots and who has the oldest? Obviously, our Mike and UGA VII are two of the youngest.

We are unveiling our live Mascot this year. It will make Bryant Denny explode when a black bear runs out of the tunnel with a houndstooth vest on with a script A on the side. (his name is Bear) They are trying to keep it on the down low but it is leaking out.

As bad as I hate to admit it, it is very cool when he flies around the stadium. The eagle is definitely one of the coolest live mascots.

Rosco is cool to!

Not that I have heard of. We have had an elephant at homecoming before but the logistics behind housing an elephant can be a problem I would suspect.

I have often thought it would be cool to fence in snow-henton park on campus and put several elephants in there.

Yes the name is Tusk but I think there are 3 to choose from gameday depending on their mood. You can't pet them though.

The Student Council is currently working on figuring the costs and such associated with housing a live elephant. No more has been said from my understanding in a couple months, but it has been widely known around here in Tuscaloosa that they are considering this.

Snow Hinton Park is not on Campus. It's actually about 2-4 miles from campus, depending on what side your heading to.
