can't see asking kids to risk injury in extra game and losing shot at NFL, because fans think they are justified in demanding playoff.
also, I became big time fan in my late forties, due in large part to all the controversy. like it they way it is.

Saban did great job at LSU and I am glad he came here. I think the hysteria about him is a little over the top, but I prefer Miles. He is more fun, plays to win, has better relationships with high school coaches, seems like a happy family guy, and can keep things interesting with his comments to boosters etc, without being a jerk about it like Spurrier.

their passion makes our sucky ooc schedule less so.
most LSU fans pull for fellow SEC teams every time they play ooc. I hope we repeat, but if not I will be pulling for UGA or AUB or FL or whoever to win it all. I thought the SEC chant at the NC game was great...
If LM was saying this at a regular press conference I would understand people (LSU) people worrying about it, but at these booster deals it is what is expected. It is the difference between the toast a best man makes at the stag party, the night before the wedding, and the toast he makes the next day at the reception. There is a place for both. They serve different purposes. They should be different. Take a deep breath...

yeah we were lucky. but every team is lucky that wins it all these days. it takes more than luck, but luck is a part of it.
I think bama is one of the big boys, or soon will be. but even if they are middle of the pack, the obvious difference is the saban connection.
miles know this gets the crowd riled up. it would be like watching a dean martin roast (yes, I am old fart) and saying, "they shouldn't have said those meant things!" it is sorta the point of the evening.

But I still believe they have. I am not worried about them this year, but I think they are getting better. I am 51, and probably older than you, and remember when their program was different, so for me they always matter, and I wouldn't mind their taking Aub.'s place, as one of the top teams in the west.

ESPN gave a lot of love to the SEC last year. I think it is mainly a matter of finding what you are looking for.
