"Alabama’s incoming recruiting class was ranked as the nation’s best by several recruiting services, and the potential impact those freshman might make this fall has been a hot topic for Tide fans.

But don’t expect Saban to join the discussion.

Saban said naming names creates only added pressure and could hurt a player’s confidence if that predicted early success doesn’t come.

“It’s not fair,” Saban said, “let the guy create his own expectations.

“Now we think guys are going to go from the high school prom to the SEC and expect them to change the game. Some do, but it’s unfair to put those expectations on them.”

As for expectations, Saban knows what they are at Alabama, adding his are on the same wavelength.

“I wouldn’t want to coach anywhere where there aren’t expectations, but we’ve got to be realistic ,” he said.

“We expect to win a national championship (someday), but we expect to go through the obstacles it takes to get there. ”

I think it will be Arkansas State that may catch us off guard this year.

like I said before, with JPW at helm, you will be average. I cannot wait for him to graduate so we can beat on some other frat kid that looks like he is 15. (insert A.J. McCarron)

Wise statement by Saban. Politically correct and CYA.

I do kinda agree with him not wanting to name freshmen who he expects to contribute before they even start 2 a days.

You wanna know why Alabama will be better this year, our O-line. We might have the best O-line in the SEC besides LSU. And JPW is a capable QB when he has time.

When will Bama fans buy into the process? If you don't buy into the process, Saban will leave and go somewhere that the fans, media, and players do. Have patience. Take your beatings now and in 3-4 years ya'll will be competing for the Alabama state title. Assuming Tubby is gone by then.

Everyone in the country is capable if they have all day to throw. Just ask Casey Dick. We gave him all day last year and we made him look like an All American.

This is how Saban works, he always remains low key.
He will not allow a big build up for a season or a big game, every game is just that, the next game.

Dude, I don't mean to be disrespectful but we heard all this bullshite last year. JPW, Jimmy Johns, Grant, that dude in the secondary who's father played for the Tide that also got arrested outside a bar. Please don't start saying how good y'all are going to be. Just show up and act like you've been there there before.
