Man, if he is the infamous Snell ref that is a double-down on douchiness. He made a HORRIBLE call. Don't go around suing folks for calling you out. We all saw what the frick happened.

No. This is the basketball ref that our fan base acted like completely looney, dumbass morons about. Spurred on by KSR which posted his business logo and phone and then took it down and acted appalled that fans were harassing the guy. Not one of our finer moments and one of the reasons Matt Jones and friends are cowardly assholes.

Let me give it another try. The refereeing in the 2017 Elite Eight game with North Carolina was egregiously bad. Even bad enough for John Calipari to make mention of it himself after the game. In the days that follow, it was discussed on Kentucky Sports Radio, a wildly popular sports radio show. During the discussion, they discussed Higgins’ day job. 24 hours later, totally third party fans started flooding his google business website. Once this was noticed, the KSR guys asked outright, on air, for fans not to do this. Higgins felt there were damages and went on to sue KSR as he felt they instigated the situation.
This case was dismissed in court, twice. The judges both agreed that KSR and crew was protected in their discussion of the officiating by the first amendment. Higgins argued that the KSR crew encouraged fans to take such actions. Two federal judges have disagreed.

Also, I apologize for misrepresenting the story. Higgins did the worst officiating job in the history of basketball (actually that’s barely hyperbole but still) and totally deserved the very measured response by our best of fans. None of whom were complete assholes.

They reported on the story that some random fan had made a montage of all his bad calls against UK and the video also displayed a bit of Higgins’ personal life. KSR didn’t produce the video. They were reporting that it was going viral.
They stated several times that they didn’t condone the behavior of the rogue fans and said it would be harassment, which they were against.
They did not publish Higgins’ personal info in anyway. This is precisely why this BS suit has been dismissed twice now. I’m sorry the facts don’t fit your narrative.
