I’ll take that New Money slot all day. Let’s face it there are about 4-5 Blue Bloods( That have done anything recent)” and the others have done Jack shite in 20 years That’s Bama Ohio State Oklahoma and USC all the others like Notre Dame Michigan Nebraska , Texas Tennessee have done nothing.
New Money
LSU Georgia Clemson, Miami , Florida State Auburn Oregon Florida can be added to the list and rather that than be the old Blue Bloods hanging on the past successes.

LSU was the first school not in the Ivy League or Michigan to win a national championship.

Would you mind operationally defining each?
I’m genuinely curious.

I mean both Auburn and LSU has Titles in the 50-60s so we are definitely borderline.

By your own definition, Michigan is the bluest of bloods. Retard.

Since the 80’s, this is one of the worst posts.

Not sure i would put a New Money label on LSU. LSU has been very good for a very long time. Just not quite in the same company as Alabama, ND, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma and a few others.
There needs to be a category that sits somewhere between new money and Blue Blood.

You have to have a defined line somewhere Dickweed. That’s my line when I think of new blood history starting with Miami.

Can you imagine playing football today in this uniform?
You’d be a smear of blood on the field.

Yeah I’d agree mainly started this post after hearing others say LSU wasn’t a Blue Blood.
The history is there.

Haven't you heard? Those men were made of IRON.
From wiki:
quote:
One of Fenton's favorite plays was the "tackle over tackle" play. In this play, Fenton faked a handoff to a back, then gave the ball to a tackle and led the blocking behind the other tackle. “Doc was the hub,” recalled tackle Marshall “Cap” Gandy, “and we were the spokes.” Fenton was referred to as "the Blond Terror" by sportswriters of the time.

LSU is close. Just not quite there. In fairness, a lot of the blue Blood stuff comes from perception more than anything. With the NC this year LSU might have as good a resume as some that are considered a Blue Blood.

The way they played football back then is much closer to the way every guy on this board played with their friends in t-shirts and shorts than it is to the way the game was/has been played in the modern era.
