Probably won't last long. As soon as McKinnley Jackson commits to Bama, they'll be up in the 314.x range, and nobody we're waiting on will push us above that (ie. McConkey, Lundy, Bell, etc.).

Only thing that would change that is if we somehow added a 3rd RB and it was Evans. Let me be clear, by no means do I think we will or even should do that... just that he's one of only a handful of players that are still on the market that would push us over them for sure, and I don't see a scenario where it happens while adding Edwards. With that said, Kirby the bean counter crootniks like me look pretty stupid several times, so wtf do I know.

Bama is showing 26 committed. How are they going to sign more? Honest question.

We also show Jones and Van Pran as possible.

Because they only have 23 guys who have sent in their signed LOI's.

They will surely either dump or greyshirt Jamil Burroughs or Damieon George for McKinnley Jackson who is by far a superior talent. Both those guys are in the 0.88-0.89 range, while Jackson is 0.97.

Our score already reflects Jones and Van Pran. They are commits, but haven't sent in a signed LOI yet.

I believe Jayson Jones is the likely drop candidate for them.

Ah yeah, could be Jayson Jones. Probably is.

So they only have 22 guys actually signed with 4 commits waiting.

We have 19 signed with 3 commits waiting.

So if they swap Jones for Jackson, they'll be around 313.x.

If we add McConkey, Lundy, or Bell, or even 2 of them somehow, we'll be around 312.x.

With Swift leaving and Herrien out of eligibility, we had to take MINIMUM two rb's... so taking a 3rd isn't out of the question. Take Evans, let them all compete and if someone doesn't make the cut, there's always the transfer portal.

They're likely adding Rakestraw as well... without adding Evans, I don't know of another target recruit that we could reasonably expect to add to edge them out and frankly I don't care. Those of us who follow know that #1 vs #2 vs #3 doesn't really matter so long as you're all right there in the same ball park. Right now Alabama, Clemson and UGA all have elite classes and there is a gap between those 3 and the next several. Additionally UGA has an incredible avg recruit ranking of 94ish... maintaining that relative value/recruit level is huge.

Rakestraw has been out for a while. He cancelled his official to us after he got the offer from Texas and we moved on.

Our 3 remaining targets are McConkey, Lundy, and Bell.

Plus there's some weirdness going on with Marcus Henderson, but I think that's just a contingency in case something funky happens with Jones of SVP.

No argument here, just did not realize that after early signing day, they counted verbals and signees. Had in my head it was just those who submitted an loi at this point.

I am very happy with this class, astonished really.

Some Bama posters still seem to think they're in the thick of it there? I knew we were not.

Also saw that with Henderson... can't envision that being a good use of a scholarship even *if* one of those 2 were to fall through.

Damieon George already signed with Alabama. He's trying to keep it quiet until Wednesday, but we all know he signed. Burroughs is a grade risk, but if his transcripts look good he won't be pushed out of the class regardless of what Jackson decides to do.

The guy for sure leaving the class is Jayson Jones. He's going to end up in Oregon.

I think he is implying that Rakestraw is not in play for Georgia, not Alabama.

So if Jones is out and Jackson is in, that still puts you guys at 26... if Burroughs and George sign.

If Burroughs has to go JUCO because he can't qualify, then you're back at the 25 limit.

How are you guys then possibly still looking at Rakestraw and Nadab Joseph if you have 25 signed LOI's sent in?

Is there a grayshirt?

Bama will have to cut several players to get down to 85.

Yeah, I had read it that way at first also, but just seemed an odd response given that I said "they're". Pronouns ftw...

Word from our 247 mods is we can take 27 in this class, but I've also seen someone say we could take 28.

We stopped recruiting Nadab Joseph months ago.

Maybe. I know Javon Baker has grade issues, too. That's why he didn't early.
