Ask your fanbase baw, it never made any sense to me. They also bitch that it's "lip" instead of "lips". Urban Dictionary has it as "Rip some lips", so maybe that's why?

ETA: fix quote

LOL, you literally copy and pasted this off of TDR.

Google proves you're not a good liar.

I didn't believe it myself, but I went and listened to the podcast. Tua gives the quote almost word for word at about the 7:30 mark. I bet he ate his dad's belt after they got off the air.

Some day, there's going to be a 30 for 30 on this family and I'm going to be eager to find out how whacked out Dad really is.

Admittedly I’ve never really heard Tua interviewed until today. I missed the Game Day stuff this year because of work so this was the first time I got to hear him in this type of setting.

I guess I was kind of taken aback by how immature he sounded. He’s been in the spotlight for 2 full years at Bama. I guess I thought he would’ve been more put together. He couldn’t really answer the questions with a straight answer and the dad stuff at the beginning was such a cringe moment. I feel sorry for him. He has a little Peter Pan Syndrome thing going that can probably get attributed back to his dad. Not as extreme obviously but kind of like MJ was from all of the beatings Joe Jackson gave him as a child.

While your post is true his dad made the best decision possible for Tua. Dude will be a hero there until CFB ceases to exist and made himself more money than he ever could have at the dumpster fire formerly known as USC

It’s not about what the right decision was or how it turned out. We all agree Bama was a better option than USC.

My point is Tua is about to get picked apart by NFL execs and his dad won’t be there to hold his hand. He struggled in an interview with Dan Patrick with nothing on the line. It’ll be interesting to see what comes out after those meetings. I hope the kid does well and plays for the next 20 years. I really do. But I’m also wondering if his dad fricked him up at the same time.

Absolutely. I’d love for Brees to come back for 2 more years with Tua learning all he can from Drew. I think he’d be great in Payton’s offense.

Galu (Tua's father) is obviously the one who made the decision for Tua to enter the draft. According to Tua, the patriarch is the end all be all in Samoan culture. I can't refute that because I've never met a Samoan in my life, and I've also never studied their culture.

Galu also was the one pushing Tua to get back on the field versus LSU, and also to start against Mississippi State. I'm not saying this to relieve or place any blame, it's just the truth, but I'm sure the trolls here will continue to blame Saban. It is what it is.

Bottom line, you combine Tua's Samoan culture with his and the family's strong faith in Christianity and some of the decisions don't make sense to a lot of people. I just hope Tua lives long, prospers, and is happy when they chunk him in the clay.

Downvote me all you want. I lived on Pearl Harbor from 2015-2017 and in Waipahu from 2017-2019. Hawaii is legitimately a shithole with a huge homeless population, massive entitlement debt, and a crumbling infrastructure that is only kept intact by a booming tourism industry. If Hawaii was its own nation, it would easily be third world.

So someone trying to escape a shithole is going to go to.....Alabama?! WTF

Joe Burrow AND LSU caught lightening bottle at Baton Rouge... Regard it as you will and write your narrative. Know too - you're an idiot.
