Does this exist I saw it called once on LSU all game. This is 50 percent of LSU new offense that isn’t even allowed.

If it was called, that would mean it exists, yes?

I mean if it’s a rule and it’s existed it should be called especially when it’s easy to spot right ? LSU knew they was bending it but the officials never got this right especially vs Oklahoma and Clemson. If it’s a rule call it. If not get rid of it.

It's not an rpo rule, it's a lineman downfield on a pass rule.
It's called more in rpo situation obviously because lineman dont quite know how long to wait

I know at least one time it was called, it was because the o-lineman was trying to find someone to block/hit.

Here is my feelings on the rule - who cares? What difference does it make if an OL is blocking on the line of scrimmage or 5 yrs down field?

I’m sure that was the reason that LSU won...
What was the score again vs Oklahoma?

It's how Auburn won their 2010 championship.

Oh, and every college program worth mentioning is running some RPOs. Your complaint is why many coaches felt it was cheating...yet are now running it because it can be effective.
I saw very few RPOs by LSU that night if any

The rule in the NFL is you have to disengage after ONE yard downfield. The college rule is 3 yards downfield which is what makes the RPOs so devastating because those 2 yards make a hell of a lot of difference if you got a lot of talent.

I wish they would move towards the NFL rule on blocking down field. It's just far to big of an advantage for the offense to do it, and it is enforced half arse'd at times during games.
At some point the rules need to help the defense a little. Everything seems set up to give the offense an advantage at this point.

Is this an excuse thread for OU AGAIN being wrongfully included in the cfp?

The play I saw on LSU's first possession showed a OL 5 yards down field, and he wasn't even blocking anyone at that point.
