You probably shouldn’t compare this kid to R Wilson. Russell Wilson lit up the ACC while he was here. That’s the dumbest fricking comparison. R Wilson and Newman are completely different and the ACC was a way better league top to bottom when R Wilson was playing college. R Wilson is much more the exception to the rule similar to a Hurts, Burrow etc. you should never expect those kinds of scenarios.

Acc was and is trash. In his final year in the acc, Wilson had a 2:1 td:int ratio and a passer rating under 130. He suddenly has one of the best passing seasons ever as soon as he bolted.

Yet we seemingly have a team playing for it all each year. Weird.

Clemson or FSU have had the benefit of playing in a 1 team league during their heydays. That doesn’t mean the acc doesn’t suck. If anything, that proves the acc sucks.

Your entire conference schedule is nothing
more than preseason for the playoffs.

Well Gnat, I did not predict greatness for the kid, just brought up an example of an ACC kid transferring and it turning out pretty good.

Leghumper, FSU out of conference schedule more than made up for the ACC during their run.

How does that prove FSU didn’t benefit from playing in a crap conference?

I thought it was pretty understood where the talent differential is between the sec and other conferences, look more at the big athletic guys in the Trenches, the db’s and lb’s and less at the qb and skill positions.

Seriously, shouldn’t bama be worried about beating ranked teams in the regular season?

Maybe. But our back up QBs have certainly fricked y’all up.

We all know it's what you're thinking, but now that your boy is from the ACC it's time to pretend like their conference isn't weak.

It's a one team conference, everyone knows it -- but don't worry, middling results in a one team conference isn't significant for your guy.

What is 247 smoking? He threw for 308 in game 7 against FSU and 350 in game 12 against Syracuse. And before his two best WRs were done for the year. Go watch his film before judging. I'm not saying he'll win the the POY but he'll be in the top half of the qbs in the SEC.

If by 350 vs Syracuse you mean he threw 71 yards then yes he had 350 against them. Also had a nice meaty 41 when wake played FSU in 2018.

But it is weak. Doesn’t mean there aren’t good players to poach. See r Wilson

Bottom line is pretty simple.

GA fricked up losing Fields.

This new qb may turn out to be quite good, but you could have had Fields this year and next.

I think we will see a rough day for GA when they play Alabama so early in the season. Those guys are bringing back a loaded defense and you are playing in their house.

That qb is going to get a baptism of fire.
