Expand the playoff, stop playing "money" games, and make strength of schedule a major component for entry into an expanded playoff. Attendance will go back up.

Making regular season games less relevant would make people go to games? They definitely wouldn’t go to the playoff games in high numbers. Have you seen attendance numbers for bowls? And playoff games are often complete blowouts already. Bringing in more useless playoff games is not the answer to attendance problems. Blacking out TV games is probably part of a solution, but sponsors would go ballistic if that happened.

Never thought of that added component being the result of pricing out average fans, but it makes a lot of sense.
