Expectations for a sports board "insider"

When you declare yourself or imply yourself as being an "insider" on a sports board, you should provide public credentials or reasons as to why you are an insider. At the very least, these reasons/credibility should be on file with your board's top moderator or to the board's BDFL himself.
You should also own up to any "prognostications" when results to the contrary are revealed in real life. Otherwise, you have no credibility and should not expect that others will have any respect for you. You then deservedly become a target for any written abuse afterwards.
You should also have your mod privileges suspended for a reasonable amount of time until after you have apologized and made amends and/or re-built your credibility.
:ETA: Be aware that Nazi Authoritarians will not like this post or thread and will downvote or make light of the seriousness of this rant.

The best part about boarding is insiders getting caught up in their own hype, and subsequently crashing down when their info isn’t as accurate as they once thought

Itll probably be easier if the people reading said information simply dont give it too much credit and wait until whatever event actually transpires

Which is exactly what happened. The shame and embarrassment that Bama fans engaged in (in scope of this board and not IRL of course) is very delicious.

It's not that his predictions were garbage, or that he's a fake insider, it's that he punishes the people who call him out on it. That's inappropriate.

Exactly. Everyone is a shite show to some degree. But, just own your shite show. People may point and laugh but they will always forgive you if you just own it or apologize (if necessary).
