Kids decommit all the time as well, though. It’s not “end of story” for anyone until the NLI is in. And that’s by design.. it protects both sides. It allows kids to capitalize on their senior year performance and gives them a way out of any boneheaded decisions they make early. It allows coaches to take a “wait and see” approach with development, grades, off the field issues, etc.

An “offer” has really just been a statement of interest for a long time. It is what it is.
