Why you stop at the last 3 years? Please do the last decade or so. I love statistics. Do you love statistics that confirm your confirmation bias? I’ll go out on the limb of yes.

Some years the SEC puts 2 teams in the playoffs, and so our bowl selections down the line get matched up with teams who finished higher in their own conference. It’s great to get lots of teams selected to the playoffs or to a major bowl, but it creates lots of matchups where, say, the #5 team in the SEC is playing the #2 team in ACC, or whatever. For the most part, the SEC avoided that this year, though the #6 SEC team did beat the #3 Big 12 team.
