Not saying Lonn is wrong here but I could absolutely see him citing Whits dad but only hearing it from someone else and not directly from Whits dad. Lonn just doesn’t scream ethics to me :lol:

When did the injury happen? I saw what looked like his last play, it was on the fourth down series we stopped, his last play he was just dropping in coverage and Reed ran but didn’t get anywhere so an oline guy was half arse blocking Weeks as Weeks was half arse attempting to get off due to Reed going down already. The next play Keys was in the rest of game.

Leavett absolutely did the oline no favors with his 1 read then bunny hop around to run outside the pocket and not just step up in the pocket. Now it’s double edge sword because he can absolutely also truly get you out of a bad block as well.
Also, Leavett missed some easy reads on rpo’s early in the game that would have been minimum 7-8 yard gains, maybe big plays is Jones just breaks one tackle but instead Leavett pulled the ball and ran himself after realizing it was wrong read and receiver was covered.
Watching eye in the sky with Hester and Flynn was a great breakdown. Offensive line had a bad day but there also was some really good pass protection plays Leavett had happy feet in. And some really good run blocking on rpos that Leavett pulled when should have not have.

We outgained them by 100 yards on the ground. Taking out Leavetts runs and we were 26 caries for 106 yards, over 4 ypc. We were also down 17 quick in a hostile environment where defense was getting overwhelmed for a bit. There energy to start the game was always going to make it difficult to get running going at first but we did eventually establish the run and it helped with the comeback.

We’ll never see that environment again, between the energy their players came out with and the fans, it was no doubt our toughest game we will see this year. And as bad as our qb and defense played at times, we were at the goal line at the end of the game to potentially tie it up. Hopefully the qb issues can be fixed, the defense issues were just a Borrowesque game from a heisman favorite.

Maybe he needs to cut back on his sleep and watch more film and stay after practice with receivers for timing. I don’t think a 21 year old needs 10 fricking hours of sleep a day.

The problem now is the ncaa asked Congress to get involved to give them and the conferences limited antitrust protections with premise of they can self govern.
Now the SEC is pretty much showing the world they will overstep not only a state court injunction but authority over its members, considering LSU broke no rules and has de-escalated the situation at every turn. Not to mention pissed off both Louisiana state senators, possibly the speaker of the house in Mike Johnson, an LSU alum, as well. Why should Congress grant them protections when they show they are abusing the power they have now? Kennedy alluded to that already, in my opinion.

LSU having the 25 million isn’t the issue. The issue is that is a big enough fine to get political people involved due to LSU being a public institution. The question becomes, and rightfully so, what authority does a publicly unelected person over a private organization have to install a multi million dollar fine on a public state run organization.

I agree there is very little chance of LSU and SEC separating.
But, on the small chance SEC wins a court case and decides to fine LSU $25 million dollars, half our football budget, I’d imagine and would want our leaders to start exploring options.

Not sure where we’d go but we’d have our pick of Big 10, ACC and Big 12.
LSU was no. 6 in the country last year in average viewership, about a million more per game than Michigan, the Big 10s second highest team. And we kinda sucked last year.

Not that simple. Two courts generally aren’t supposed to issue conflicting orders telling the same parties to do opposite things. The Supreme Court has dealt with this exact type of problem and the basic rule is that you obey the order that’s currently in effect until it’s overturned—you don’t just pick the order you like better. So if Alabama tells the SEC it can punish LSU while the Louisiana injunction says the SEC cannot punish LSU, that’s going to create a serious jurisdictional fight. An Alabama ruling doesn’t automatically erase the Louisiana order.

Seeking to hold them in contempt and being granted contempt is two very different things. Sec wasnt held in contempt and the willingly defied the court order.

To me you define NFL experience as any camp participation, mini camp or preseason whether you sign contract or not - or use the NFLPA accrued model, being on team roster for 1-2 nfl regular season games as it acres as full season towards pension.
I think these guys cshould be eligible because ncaa screwed them and they weren’t any more professional than the college players; both get paid except the guys that got cut in preseason got paid less lol
