So was Jalen Hurts and he has better numbers. Is he better than Lawrence?
To your second question, determining who is “better” is a subjective question, and therefore you will get subjective answers. For example, Tom Brady could have been the Arkansas QB this year and would have fared slightly better than our QBs did; but overall Arkansas still would have sucked.
Would this have meant that “insert any college QB” is better than Tom Brady? Simply because they have better stats over the course of one year? How do you define “better”? Stats only? In my opinion, stats don’t tell the whole story.
Getting back to the original question - TL is not overrated. He has great stats, leadership (see performance in big games) and 0 losses. Not sure how anyone with a brain cell could call him overrated; especially when he wasn’t even one of the three QB invited to Heisman.

Not that great considering he's only faced two top 50 pass defenses all season

I've heard several Clemson fans as well as sports talk hosts call him the best quarterback in college football.

The question is why is a guy constantly lauded as a top 3 or sometimes top overall quarterback in college football 5th in passing touchdowns and 16th in passing yards with 8 picks against a garbage schedule?
