How long do you think he has as the head coach??

quote:There is no real answer to that question until you see the end of the 2020 season. If he wins 7-8 games he's safe. If he wins 9-10...Tanner will give him a 7 year extension...lol....I think anything below a bowl trip next year would be his demise.

Not sure, hopefully a while. He does a lot right, it’s just a matter of him and his staff putting it all together

What all does he do right?

I guess it's just a matter of time before he learns what winning is.

"pretty much everything except..."
shouldn't the "everything" lead to winning?

I don’t disagree, but usually when you do everything right then it all should equal winning. In his case it does not.

So then he’s not doing everything right....
We can agree to disagree here
But until he wins. He’s not doing everything right

He recruits incredibly hard, he coaches hard, he runs a good clean program.
he has had some injury issues, hopefully he got rid of the problem, and he had some offensive issues, hopefully he has fixed that.
obviously he hasnt won a lot the last two years, but the program isnt in say the shape it was under Spurrier when the guy didnt do things the right way and let it slip.

Except...doing right is subjective...winning or not winning is factual. They are totally separate issues. People do things right every single day that have bad outcomes...so your argument is moot.

Eh.
Not in football.
At the end of the day winning is all.
If he “recruits well” how come the talent is helping him win?

You win by doing the right things so your thought process is moot. IBG is correct.

Yeah he does work hard, but he doesn't work smart and he doesn't have great instincts. I will give him credit for avoiding *some* of the Oline issues he had at UF.
Injuries had always been an issue with him and Dillman, and unless he has changed his approach to the offense then there is no reason to expect better results. Also, he finished 4-8 last year with a program in better condition than Spurrier's final year. That does not inspire confidence.

quote:You are very wrong. You can have a great QB..get him totally prepared....and if he gets hurt on the first play...then you did everything right..that you can control. You guys are not factoring in the "uncontrolled circumstances" of any event....so...his "if you do everything right" statement becomes moot .

Well in that scenario it sounds like somebody forgot to develop good Oline talent.

No you are totally wrong because your thought process isn't developed enough to see the whole picture. IF you are doing the right " thing" then your backup QB is ready to run the offense and you keep going. Putting " all your marbles " on just the 1st string qb means you're not doing the " right thing". Failure to develop more than 1 plan of action is failing to do the RIGHT THING. Your way of thinking is moot.
