I can't believe how level headed and calm and knowledgeable that Florida board is, especially compared to the rant and the Arkansas and Ole Miss 247 boards.

I know they know Pittman as their rival's best coach, but damn, they hit the nail on the head with the reasons you hire Pittman and knew a lot about the Bert stories that have seemingly just now surfaced.

One said we have Reynolds Wrap as a booster. I think they believe that because of our Stadium name?

Everyone knew Kiffin was a risk. With high risk comes high reward.

The whole Bert drinking problem thing was one of the worst kept secrets. I hadn't heard the part about him showing up drunk to in-home visits. That's a new level of bad. I had also heard he was showing up to work at like noon every day by the end of it. I hope he got some help.

Off topic but I’ve never really understood the saying worst kept secret. Does it mean it was a secret that was bad or does it mean it was a secret that wasn’t really a secret because everyone knew it?

I think we'll look back at Arkansas and see that they were fortunate that things fell apart with Kiff and Pittman fell in their laps. Arkansas needs someone to come in and rebuild the foundation of their program. They need character and culture and while Kiff would've provided a nice splash I think the best case scenario would've been Kiff winning 8 games in year 3 or 4 and then jumping to another job leaving Arkansas back in the same boat. I like this hire and think Pittman and Arkansas have a chance to build a long term relationship.

Good analysis

My buddy, who was driving for Uber, picked up BB in Little Rock one night and dropped him off at White Water Tavern. He said he was sloppy drunk.
This guy knows nothing about sports and only recognized him after I was talking about him.

Not unless you're lucky. Generally with high risk comes devastating consequences, and expensive if not impossible repairs.

More devastating then what we've already had?

So we'd be in our current situation?

People that take high risks usually don't fully grasp the downsides of their risk.

The best way to go is low risk, high reward, as any great investor will tell you. Pittman fits the bill of low risk high reward imo

You can't have that mindset. That is a losers mentality.
If you're scared, go to church.

We aren't due anything. We are going to have to earn every break we get.

Absolutely. Failure gets progressively more and more devastating, as you continue to fail. You get weaker, your competition gets stronger.

So we'd be in our current situation?

It can always get worse. How would you like to be paying Bielema, Morris, and Kiffin, while dealing with reductions in scholarship, tv blackouts, bowl bans, and vacated wins? What do you think recruiting would look like then, and what kind of coach do you hire to deal with that?

So if you've managed to cripple your program through incompetence at the administration and coaching levels, you throw caution to the wind and find the most ruthless, win at all costs guy to run your program, or you're scared.

Go to church regardless, you may be blessed more than you currently are...
