Georgia - how are you not, by far, the best team in the country?

Or at least have a dominant offense? Got talent EVERYWHERE!

4 - 5* OLs
3 - 5* LBs
2 - 5* WRs
2 - 5* RBs
2 - 5* DBs
1 - 5* DL

Coaching.

If Kirby gets this assistant thing figured out they will be scary good. He keeps replacing really good coaches with kind of poor hires though as is. Hoping that trend continues with Pittman's replacement.

1) Extreme lack of talent at WR/TE
2) An outdated offense that doesn't maximize our skillset.

Pretty simple really. Our defense is fine and our OL/RBs are fine, and if we had a better system our QB is fine.

The thing is...in 2018 we had Mecole Hardman, JJ Holloman, Riley Ridley, Terry Godwin, and Isaac Nauta to throw to. This year we have literally none of them. NO team is going to be as good after losing their top 5 receivers.

I think after this year having watched LSU and Alabama move to the spread offense; Georgia will have to bite the bullet and also make the transition.

Florida and Auburn also run something similar to a spread.

Georgia is just going to slide into LSU's role as the very talented team whose great defense is constantly let down by poor offense.

If UGA went out and hired Chad Morris or someone else who runs a modern offense I suspect they would win a title within 2 years. Long live Coley!

I wouldn't say that, coley is the only one that fits this bill. We lost Mel Tucker from a great defense and replaced him with a guy no one had heard of and people made fun of and our defense got even better. Almost every hire he's made has been fine except for coley as OC, although to be fair we're runnign what kirby want sto run whether it's coley or chaney.

We concentrated too much in the trenches and did not recuits enough wrs to overcome injuries and attriticion.

Happens, takes alot of things to go right to win a NC

Good grief. With all that mega talent how they don’t have multiple national championships is mind boggling. That is more than Bama

Our qb and receivers suck. Not that hard.

The answer is coaching. Point blank, period.

If Kirby could hire a good offensive staff and get out of the way, we would dominate.

I personally think some of those WRs were terribly over rated. He does have some studs on the D side of the ball.

I don't know that they offense this year is all that different than the offense of 2017. The 2017 offense did not seem to have that much trouble moving the ball on people. Big difference in the skill people, imo. Kirby does have some crucial hires to make in the short term future. Is Pittman the only guy to leave?

that's 100% correct. We aren't doing anythign different on offense, we just have ZERO threat in the pasing game so teams can load the box on us. In 2017 you had most of the guys mentioned above in hardman/ridley/godwin/nauta but add Javon Wims. When teams had at least SOME respect for our receivers it opened up more holes for our excellent run game.

As of now, why shoudl any defense fear tyler simmons and matt landers? I'd put 9 in the box.

UGA doesn’t get to bitch about lack of talent anywhere. You all deflect to the WR but you had the best most highly talented OL in the country and a stable of 5* RBs and didn’t even have a top 25 run game.

UGA has talented receivers. UGA has failed to develop quality depth. Is it lack of reps in practice? Is it lack of quality instruction? Is it scheme?

Sorry, but for all the off-season recruiting championship UGA fans have claimed you don’t get to bitch about a lack of talent.

Getting talent is only half the battle. You still have to develop it. It just means you have less developing to do over the time they are there because they are highly talented.
