Rock Nation has a bad review, but I am not a fan of Nate Edwards the writer.

I think McElwain confronts the press and that's what gets him in trouble, and let's face it Florida is a place with lots of drama.

Here is a story on Urban Meyer and all the sins his players made according to the press,

Here is a negative article on Muschamp at Florida, let's face it Flordia has a tought press core.

For the record, I have no problem with McElwain, and that photo of McElwain's look-alike posted was without a doubt a dirty trick the media pounced on.

Lots of behind the scenes stuff, too, with Spurrier that McElwain fought probably too hard.

Also, RockM has no better info than the collective of posters here on the Rant.

Eh. I thought that was overdone on both sides. Florida fans were so mad at him for those comments that he probably received death threats for saying it.

Here are comments, as I look at this it looks more figurative than literal

Just my Two cents guys.

And the Florida press was on Urban's back really hard, he claims he left because of heart failure, but went on to coach Ohio St.

I guess knowing the heat Urban was under and Muschamp and then the fake photo of McElwain, showing him naked, I am willing to give the guy a fair shot

The808Bass I agree with you.

Think about this, Somebody paid a lot of money to catch a dead shark put it on the beach, hire a New York City Police officer, off duty, McElwain look alike, then publish the nude photos claiming it's McElwain.

We all know that was a setup.

Now I confess, one of my worst habits is cussing, if someone did that to me, I would cuss like a trooper, and if I was a coach I think the Flordia media would roast me.

You shouldn't have fired Barry Odom if you're just going to turn around and hire McElwain.

With that said, McElwain is the best name being floated around aside from Harsin and Healy.

Odom’s issue wasn’t football. If he was better at management, we win 7 or 8 (or 9 or 10) games this year. And we’re not having this discussion. We need a competent CEO of a $40M+ business.

What Bass said.....and the HC needs to be a disciplinarian.....the 2019 team was the most undisciplined team I can ever remember.....and any sport.....in any conference....in any state......and that's ALL on Odom.

Totally on board with you. Just saying, they need to aim higher than McElwain IMO.

The thing I like about McElwain is that there’s a danger that any hire isn’t “SEC ready.” And there’s just so much less danger of that for Mac than the others.

You assuming Mac was where the search started? I think not.

That's true. I will say, of all the names I've been hearing so far, he's probably my third choice. For me, I want:

1. Harsin
2. Healy
3. McElwain

Although McElwain isn't the exciting hire I think Mizzou football needs at this moment, he does offer SEC experience as you said.

I was thinking Trinity a couple years back. But I didn’t see Webster. And when I was a kid in HS we played a Roosevelt team that had to have competed for that title.

Does anyone know if Sterk has interviewed Harsin or Clark?

If Odom’s issue wasn’t football, and then we turn around and hire McElwain then Sterk truly Hs no idea what he is doing
