It was pretty cool. Kid has serious talent. After the Vols played UK He reminded me of nick Marshall at Auburn.

It's working, he's getting the Ohio State recruits that want to play in the SEC. His Ohio roots are working well for UK.

Glad to see Bowden having success but let’s be clear. He was not offered by Ohio State. Unfortunately that class didn’t have room. He’s certainly a very talented player.

He’s getting Ohio kids. He’s not getting Ohio kids that Ohio State wants.

I’ll admit I don’t know enough about your program so I’ll have to take your word for it, but any thing that’s bad for OSU and good for an SEC team I’m in favor of.

Ohio State tried to come in and poach him and he stayed with his Kentucky commitment. So yes, he was offered (even if it was a last minute offer).

quote:

Ohio State had room for Lynn Bowden after all.

The electric four-star athlete from Warren G. Harding High School waited patiently throughout his recruitment for an offer from the state power. After a January re-evaluation period of in-state prospects failed to materialize one, Bowden committed to the University of Kentucky.

The Buckeyes, however, made a last-ditch effort for the services of the Raider. It wasn't enough.

He's getting kids who had offers from Ohio State as well. He's recruiting well in that state, and for those players who want to play in the SEC, UK is a great option.

He went to the same school as Ralphie from A Christmas Story.

I think Ralphie went to an elementary school, but yes.

He got one who was told to look elsewhere and transferred out of UK.

Stoops is doing a great job but saying he’s getting kids that Ohio State really wants is disingenuous.

Chris Oats didn’t have an Ohio State offer (247 says he did), Josh Paschal didn’t have an Ohio State offer (he even had ND, Bama, Penn State, Oklahoma too), Landon Young, etc.?

Has Stoops done a better job of getting kids on the cusp of big offers like OSU? Sure. But he’s gotten some you’ve wanted too. So it’s not disingenuous.
