I started this subject on the St Louis Post dispatch about a month ago and the usual dimwits and trolls made fun of it.

Because they do not understand anti trust law I do.

Fact, in NCAA v Jerry Tarkanian the NCAA made a statement before the U S Supreme Court saying if Nevada Las Vegas and Tarktanian did not like the NCAA rules simply leave the NCAA.

Alright, we are not likely to get a major name coach with two years of probation in front of his name.

But if we leave the NCAA we can tell the NCAA screw off, there is nothing they can do and probation cannot be held against us and since the NCAA has already set the presedent before the U S Supreme Court they cannot punish us in any way.

So Sterk do it.

If we leave the NCAA, and do this without the conference, it would destroy the athletic department. Every sporting championship besides bowl games are NCAA owned, licensing goes through the NCAA. We couldn't comply with Title 9. It would be the end.

Now get the SEC to go with us and things change. But not by ourselves.

Yeah, Mizzou is not the school to lead this charge.

Your Points are well taken, but the NCAA collects member fees, and the NCAA is a billion-dollar industry, I bet we pay at least $10 mil to them, so we can save a few bucks too.

You can’t just leave on your own. Mizzou would need the P5 conferences to leave together.

But what sports do we play if we leave?

You're a fool, who would we play? The only way it works is if the Power 5 get together and give them the collective finger.

And if the NCAA screws up the Name/Image/likeness revolution, it might just happen.

I get the sentiment and I do think the day will come but Mizzou wouldn't last a year on its own. You won't even see one conference like the SEC do it on its own. It will take most or all of the P5 agreeing to leave.

They thought Lamar Hunt was a fool starting the AFL against the NFL monopoly, the NCAA is ripe for the picking, nobody likes them.

I am with you 100% and the PAC 12 just did, California passed a law allow athletics to get paid, for likeness, then there is the O'Bannon lawsuit

LINK

We can simply tell NCAA to kiss our sweet behinds, there has to be another Lamar Hunt out there.

Front me $17,000,000 and I would show you how it's done, Hunt started a league with his team in it called the Dallas Texans later the K C Chiefs

The NCAA screwed that up already and the NCAA is changing the rules now, anytime somebody stands up against the NCAA the NCAA wets its pants, that's why we should have hired our lawyer to fight and not try to work something out.

Sorry guys, I have a passion for things like this.

My problem is I am 69 years old and my brain thinks I am 25, the mind wants to do it but the body won't let me.
