The point I'm making is even with 2 games left to play, we have a scenario in which there are EIGHT teams with legit resumes for FOUR spots. No part of me thinks Georgia can beat LSU or Minnesota can beat Ohio St, but I also didn't believe Arizona st would beat Oregon until there was about 4 minutes left in that game.

There is a case to be made that teams that, although they could win a title, do not deserve to have a chance at it. I mostly agree with it. at 8 teams, I would say probably almost every year there will be 1-2 who really dont deserve to have a chance to win the national title after their regular season, but I do think its more important to give every team that does deserve a shot their chance.

UCF may not have been up to the challenge of winning 3 straight agsinst top10 teams a few years ago, but its absolute garbage to say they didnt deserve the chance.

While 4 teams is a massive improvement over 2 teams, its ridiculous that the top division in college football is the only sport in America that leaves so much of the control for determining a national champion to the conversations of retired old people.

Sooner or later something crazy like the OP is going to happen and it doesnt have to.

you just said it...we have 2 games left. AFter 13 games played we will not have 8 teams with legit resumes. That's why we will play these next 2 games.

they didn't deserve the chance because the only team they played all season with a pulse was GD memphis. You want to run with the big boys start shceduling the big boys like FSU did in teh 70s and 80s and boise did in the early 00s.

it also places the most emphasis on the regular season, which is a joy. How can you be against that?
