You don't. Bama's not making it over a one-loss conference champion. They need Oregon to beat Utah in the Pac 12 Conference Championship Game, OU to lose Bedlam next week and then beat Baylor in the Big 12 Championship Game. If all of those dominoes don't fall, they're done.

I dunno about that. Baylor is at 14 and playing Kansas this week. If Bama wins the Iron Bowl they’ll have an utterly massive lead on Baylor

If conference championships meant so much then the playoff would only be for conference champs. But, that's not the case because the playoff committee looks at conference championships and other factors. I believe this is due to the power of the SEC and to a lesser degree the Big 10. You all can argue all you want but it's very likely if it comes down to Bama and Utah, Bama will be in the playoff and Utah will not.

Bama doesn't need all this to happen. If Bama beats Auburn and LSU wins out including beating UGA Bama is in the playoff.
