Call me nuts, but with that loaded Freshman class, plus Vanover and a couple legit upper classmen, that's dang Sweet 16 team and could contend for an SEC titlew ith Muss's coaching.
I'm drinking the Kool aid heavily, but that's as solid of a roster as we've had in years.
Stolen from 247 board:
Assuming Joe goes pro
Seniors
Jalen Harris G
Mason Jones G
Juniors
Desi Sills G
Ethan Henderson F
Reggie Chaney F
JD Notae G
Abayomi Iyioloa F
Sophomores
Connor Vannover F/C
Freshman
Moses Moody G
Jaylin Williams C
Davonte Davis G
Probable Frosh KK Robinson G
Will still have 1 spot to fill with possible grad transfer

I'm ok with Joe having a handful more 5 point games with someone like Whitt carrying the offensive load if it means we get him again next year

Of course Joe is probably going to go pro after this season is over, but I do think he has some stuff to learn. For a player like him, IMO, he needs to learn that when his shot isn't falling he needs to attack the rim hard and often. He needs to learn to be a consistent 20+ppg player, whether those points come from behind the arc, in the lane, or at the free throw line. He needs to be our primary scorer.
Maybe Musselman can talk him into staying one more year?

A mock draft had him as basically a lottery pick next year around 15-ish. He gone.

I can see us having Gonzaga type of success in the near future. Then maybe past that if we keep our kids home.
I haven't been this pumped about basketball in a veeeeeeeery long time.

I agree. I worry that Mason Jones may play himself into this same conversation. Although, Jones isn't quite so good. He wouldn't be a 1st rounder this year I don't think, so maybe he comes back. But I do think we could potentially lose both of them this year.

If you want to see what a good coach can do, just watch this basketball team play. We might have a few lumps this year, but the future is very bright with Coach Muss at the helm.

Only if Jones is much higher on himself than what the world thinks of him

You're kidding, right? Mason Jones is an outstanding basketball player.

He'll never play a regular season game in the NBA
