Nature is cruel in causing humans and dogs both to be born with this disease for no discernable reason.
Sometimes science isn't pretty, but it's necessary to alleviate the suffering we as mortal species have to deal with on this planet. If you don't have the balls to do this kind of research, at least have the decency to appreciate those who do to make all of our lives better.

UK does alzheimer's research on beagles. They are bred for this purpose and then euthanized. Google is your friend.
