These stats just don't mean a lot. We'll know who we are soon enough, though.

Not you per se, but why do stats only mean little when they don't back up someone's narrative? Another poster was saying the offensive stats meant very little and Mizzou was going to shut us down.

I get what you're saying. I'm just pointing out that the per play production isn't really a huge difference between the two teams I mentioned (and one of them....not us....has wrapped up a game with a high-powered offense). Unfortunately, it's hard for us to judge at this point. Hell, even Mizzou didn't have their starter in at QB. Can't say for sure anything changes if they do, but can't guarantee it doesn't, either. Bryant is the starter for a reason.

And I don't know about the offensive stats you mentioned or what was stated. I would not have expected them to shut us down, though. But what points we put up were damn near agonizing to sit through. Heck, our first TD came as a result of that series being extended by a spectacular pass that could very easily have fallen incomplete and resulted in us punting from well into our own territory. We've seen so few of those passes connect this year that it can't be assumed we can do it anytime we need it.
