Getting a 5 year head start and stating the obvious..
CBS’s 2:30 game has become the “Please Don’t Pick Our Team” game.. They actually think it’s a good idea to put potentially the best game of the weekend during the hottest part of the day in the Southeastern United States (Unless played in Missouri).. They leave us with the choice of having a heat stroke at the game or listening to Gary Danielson latch on to a team and ride them until the end. When their contact expires the SEC needs to drop CBS and go to FOX Sports or another network.. These premier match ups deserve a prime time slot each week. Even if you like day games during a normal week the SEC Championship which is sometimes better than the National Championship should not be at 3 pm.

From CBS’s perspective, why wouldn’t you want the best game when you get first pick?
I don’t like it either, but the SEC made that deal

After the midpoint of the season, 3:30 is the ideal time for a game.

2:30 is the best time slot.

Yeah I don't think people factor in the travel and how much harder it is for the road team the week following a night game. I love the 3:30/2:30 game and in October and November it really isn't that hot.

I don't understand why the SEC keeps extending the contract. The SEC is by far the best conference every year with the most viewers. They would be able to pick the network of their choice on the terms they want. I guess it's the blue hairs at the SEC office afraid of change.

Gary and Verne actually negotiated that CBS only host 2:30 games back in the day. Didn't want anyone to see them snooze once the clock hit 7.

I don't mind the timeslot. The network sucks though.
