I like to bash Sumlin as much as the next guy, but this is Arizona were talking about.

For all we know, Sumlin wasn't given a good budget to hire coordinators. So sticking it out with Yates probably made the most sense at the time. You're not going to get anyone worth a dick for $600k/year. May as well save the buyout money in year 1 and make a decent hire this off-season now that Yates contract has ended. I wouldn't be surprised if Arizona gives him a budget to get a decent G5 coordinator.
