Backed up John Emery so this is the first year he gets the lion share of carries. Some would say he's better than Ashaad Johnson out of Warren Easton in state (Ranked much higher) and believe will show that this year.
Bama got a good one here.

Was about to ask about him and about that unique situation of being behind Emery and not really having any every down back tape going into his Senior year. Thanks t-bird.

He should have a huge season barring injury. Destrehan has a new QB too along with Emery leaving. He'll get 20+ carries every game.

He is a very good RB. Should be a 4* at the very least. He will finally get the oppurtunity to show his worth. Very good pickup by Bama.

Is this a guy LSU had much interest in?

I think we've been in the Evans or bust bucket for a while now. We've shown very little interest in other backs (besides Milton who is committed to UGA). Keyvone Lee they brought in to camp but he didnt work out so they moved on from him quickly.
They offered Ashaad Johnson in-state over 2 years ago but you pretty much never hear about him and us really.
My guess is they obviously talk to Edwards a good bit after recruiting Emery so much last cycle and Edwards has no interest being behind Emery again. We also will have 3 freshman backs this year (Curry, Emery, Davis-Price).

Plus the fact that Louisiana is loaded at the RB position for the 2021 class.

So you're saying he's gonna get a Bama Bump?

I don’t see this commit sticking. He’s not a Bama quality back, imho. He’s going to be BURIED on the depth chart. He’s a MSU- type guy imho.

You clearly havent watched his film, there's not a ton of it, but he breaks some really good runs last year.
He's not very shifty, but still has good speed (4.5-4.6 range) and good power (for his size). He seems like a pretty typical productive Bama back.

Lol. I love comments like this. I stand by my comments. He’s a solid back. He’s solid physically and he’s quick . And as the workhorse he will have a great year. But he’s not a kid who is going to WOW you and I will be surprised if he signs with a top tier program in the end. It’s not personal, it’s just my evaluation.

I'm not saying this kids stats won't pop this year since Emery is gone but his offer list other than Alabama pretty much speaks for itself. Now that could be due to not touching the ball a lot. Good back and pick up either way, just not the type of backs we use to seeing Alabama pick up.

Not every RB is a 5-star, but he clearly has a lot of ability and showed it last year some with Emery around (and eventually out that season). No, he's not Zach Evans, but I certainly think he will be very productive at Bama. He is a lot like Josh Jacobs. He's not going to dance a lot and will run north-south and get tough yards. Has more than enough speed to break some runs too.
